A spring photoshoot isn’t merely another opportunity to take pictures, it is a time to celebrate the re-birth of nature’s glory. Similarly, spring mini sessions begin to pop up everywhere. These represent real opportunities to either update spring pictures for school or possibly take some special spring engagement photos. What should a family wear for spring pictures?

Choose 2-3 complimentary colors that YOU like. It could be yellow, blue, and cream or red, brown, and white or? Just be sure to have some layers, texture, and dimension in your pictures! If in doubt, simply choose varying shades of the same colors for your Red Lotus Family Pictures.

What should you not wear for family pictures?

White shirts can wash out some skin tones, and not every cut works on every body. So when my clients ask, “What should we wear,” I feel their pain.
What to wear?

Fitted clothes (i.e. nice pair of jeans, tailored shirt with sleeves, LAYERS)
Closed-toe shoes.
Neutral, coordinating colors or patterns like plaids, stripes, and florals.

What should I wear for family photos outside in the Spring?

Navy, cream and tan is a classic color scheme for Red Lotus’ Family Photos that works well for most any season. The navy and cream pair beautifully with the pastel florals and bright greens of spring. They also look perfect among green grass and leaves at a park for summer family pictures.

Newborn baby pictures can bring a smile to anyone’s face. While newborn photos represent one of the greatest treasures to a new parent, not all parents take advantage of a newborn photoshoot. A newborn baby pic can be the furthest thing from your mind when you are in the throws of day to day activities with your little bundle of joy. Where do I start (you might ask)? Well, I would Google newborn photography near me, review the results and determine which studio is the best match for what you are seeking. One question we do get asked from time to time is how to get a passport for a newborn and believe it or not, there is actually a procedure to this that we can assist you with. Our newborn photo sessions take place in our centrally located portrait studio or sometimes in your home depending on what the best time for newborn photos is for you. We do accept on location assignments from time to time; however, recommend the following three photographers when we are not available:

How much is a newborn photo shoot?

Red Lotus Baby Portrait Photography photo-shoots usually begin around $1200. This typically includes the photographer’s time for the session itself, editing the final photographs, and the cost of the photographer’s experience, equipment, supplies, and travel expenses.

When should newborn photos be taken?

In order to capture your newborn in adorable curly poses, you should take newborn photos four to eleven days after giving birth. If you want your baby’s sleepy and curly newborn demeanor to be photographed, try not to wait any longer than two weeks for the Red Lotus Newborn Session.

Is 2 weeks too old for newborn photos?

It is possible (although more difficult) to create beautiful posed newborn photographs after two weeks of age. Red Lotus’ Photographers will photograph babies who are older. When a photographer accepts a booking for a posed newborn shoot with a baby older than two weeks, they will alert you to some poses that may no longer be possible due to the baby’s age.

How do we do a newborn photo shoot at home?

1. Scout Your home – spend a few days before your shoot walking around your house at different times of day and noticing how the light changes.
2. Collect Any Outfit, Props, and Accessories that you might want to use during the session.
3. Make sure you and the little ones get a good nights sleep and are all properly fed prior to the session start time.
4. Set the mood with some relaxing music or scents in the background.
5. Have all subjects (including any pet children) bathed and styled to your preference.
